Bilfen Antalya High Schools Students Have Witnessed the Journey of the Little Sea Turtles and Have Pursued Their Dreams in Science!

9th grade students of Antalya Bilfen High School have enjoyed a priceless experience by attending “Nature Preservation and Observation Trip for Baby Sea Turtles” organized by the Department of Biology, on the 17-18th September. This year’s trip, which was the fourth one in a row, has brought forth an awareness to protect nature and scientific learning.

During the activity, 9th graders were actively engaged in the field together with EKAD (Ecological Research Society), at Belek, one of the largest sea turtle nesting areas in Türkiye. Closely observing all the activities performed since April, our students have had the privilege of witnessing caretta caretta hatchlings breaking out of their shells and reaching the sea.

Our Students Contributed to the Nature Conservation Efforts

As part of the activities aimed at raising ecological awareness, our students have eagerly participated in the beach clean-up and collected litter harmful to nature. After completing that task, they have been awarded with EKAD’s “Nature Conservation Certificates” for their efforts. The President of the Organisation (EKAD), academician Dr. Ali Fuat Canbolat and expert biologists have given detailed information to the students about their work and emphasized the importance of conserving nature.

Meeting with Science: A Visit to Antalya Science Center

In the second part of the trip, our students have visited Antalya Science Center and explored the scientific world. They have examined all the scientific divisions accompanied by guides and have had an entertaining and educative experience, uncovering the stories behind scientific discoveries.

As Bilfen Antalya High Schools, we are proud with our students who have showed great interest  and enthusiasm throughout the event, immersed themselves in science and developed a consciousness for the protection of nature. We would like to thank all of our students who attended the trip.
