Çayyolu Bilfen High Schools In International Masterclass Training

Bilfen High Schools students attended “International Masterclass” training to learn about team work, joint product creation, developing a sense of ownership and studies on particle physics.

International Masterclass training continues its activities through IPPOG in partnership with CERN and METU IVMER in order to create the manpower needed within the framework of Turkey's national space program and to increase the interest in particle physics. The International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG) is an organization that contributes to the training of the next generation of researchers on a universal scale. They study particle physics in depth with the support of the international laboratory CERN (European Center for Nuclear Research).

To the students of Bilfen High Schools, who are always open to scientific studies, development and change, Particle physics lessons were taught by Prof. Dr. Altuğ ÖZPİNECİ and Prof. Dr. M. Bilge DEMİRKÖZ. After the particle physics training, the data obtained by conducting experiments on real data from CERN were analyzed. In the live link, moderated by CERN, analysis were discussed with high school students from other countries participating in the event that day. The study, which once again reminded the universal dimension of science and education, created excitement in the students.

Students who completed their particle physics education were entitled to receive a certificate.
