PRIVATE BİLFEN ÇAYYOLU SCHOOLS "WORLD DNA DAY" CELEBRATIONS

 

25 April World DNA Day, which has an important place in the scientific world, has been celebrated since 2003 to celebrate the completion of the Human Genome Project and the discovery of the DNA double helix. During the celebrations, various activities are organized to spread the importance of genetics to large masses and to raise awareness. Private Bilfen Çayyolu Schools 9th grade students within the scope of World DNA Day, isolated their DNA from their own buccal epithelial tissues and made a "DNA Necklace" with the SEM STEM activity. Afterwards, they learned about when and why they could use the information about their own DNA. In addition, our students presented their own "DNA Models" to their friends and teachers at the Biology Exhibition of our school.
