Investigating the Mitotic Division Stages in Onion Root Cells at Private Bilfen Çayyolu High Schools
A day of discovering what is behind the visible at Private Bilfen Çayyolu High Schools... After the topic of Mitosis was discussed with the 10th grade students, the onion root was examined under the microscope to reinforce the stages of mitosis for our students, and the acquisition was supported with visual elements. Prior to the procedure, onion root cells, which were initiated into the mitotic process by soaking them in water, were stained with "Acetocarmine Solution." Subsequently, the students had the opportunity to closely observe stages such as anaphase and metaphase, directly from a living tissue. As a result of this activity, the students acquired the ability to distinguish mitotic stages more easily.
