27 DECEMBER ATATURK'S ARRIVAL CEREMONY IN ANKARA
The ceremony began with a moment of silence in honor of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye and the architect of modern Türkiye, as well as all our martyrs, followed by the recitation of the National Anthem.
During the Turkish War of Independence, under the command of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, successive victories were achieved in a struggle that started in Ankara and spread from Edirne to Kars, from Samsun to Hatay. It was emphasized that in this small Anatolian town, a handful of patriots stood resolutely and determinedly against the world's greatest imperialist powers.
It was noted that Ankara did not only serve as the command center for the war of independence but was also declared the capital of the new state 105 years ago when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived in this city.
The revolutionary reforms instrumental in establishing the new Turkish state after the War of Independence were highlighted as being adopted in Ankara.
Due to its role as a pioneer of modernization, Ankara was described as the most significant city reflecting the spirit of Türkiye.
