Bilfen High Schools Amateur Radio Clubs Shine on the World Stage!

Bilfen High School students achieved remarkable success at the CQ World Wide Radio Contest 2025, an event that brought together 10,373 participants from around the globe!
Students from Bilfen Üsküdar Science High School and Bilfen Anatolian High School Amateur Radio Club proudly represented their schools and our country by ranking 88th in the world, 13th in Asia, and 3rd in Turkey in their category.

The Amateur Radio (HAM Radio) community, composed of electronics and communication enthusiasts worldwide, gathers every year during the last weekend of October for the CQ World Wide Radio Contest. This international competition runs continuously for 48 hours, with the goal of establishing as many connections as possible with amateur radio operators across the world and preparing communication logs.

The Bilfen Üsküdar Science High School and Bilfen Anatolian High School Amateur Radio Clubs, active for the past three years, have been participating in this major event for the last two years. The clubs aim to raise students’ awareness of radio communication, electronics, and technology, to nurture their interest in these fields, and to prepare them to become the engineers, communicators, and scientists of the future.

This year, our students participated under the call sign YM2XBL, operating continuously from Saturday morning to Sunday noon, making connections with radio operators worldwide and recording their communications.
(Meaning of the call sign: YM = school, 2 = Kadıköy region, XBL = BİLFEN)

After ranking 13th in Asia and 2nd in Turkey last year, our clubs once again achieved outstanding results this year, finishing 88th globally, 13th in Asia, and 3rd in Turkey in an even larger and more competitive event.

Our school takes great pride in our students’ technical skills, teamwork, and discipline, which have brought the Bilfen name to international recognition in this unique field.

We sincerely congratulate all our students and advisor teachers and, as the Bilfen family, we are proud of these young people who will help shape the technologies of the future.
