“Protecting Our Forests for a Green Homeland” Seminar at Bahçeşehir Bilfen High Schools

Forests, one of our country’s most valuable natural resources, have suffered severe damage in recent years due to wildfires, once again reminding us how fragile nature is and how much it needs protection. With the aim of fostering environmental awareness, emphasizing the importance of sustainability, and instilling a sense of responsibility in our students, Bahçeşehir Bilfen High Schools organized a meaningful seminar.
Hosted by the Social Sciences Department, the event welcomed Mr. Egemen Acar, Chief of the Terkos Forest Management Office under the Çatalca Forest Directorate of the Istanbul Regional Forestry Administration. Mr. Acar informed students about forest fires in our country, sharing striking insights on their causes, preventive measures, and the individual responsibilities we all bear.
Throughout the seminar, our students learned that protecting nature is not only the duty of institutions but also a shared responsibility of every member of society. They became aware that with conscious actions, we can safeguard the future of our forests. At the conclusion of the program, Mr. Egemen Acar was presented with a sapling certificate, planted in his name on behalf of Bahçeşehir Bilfen High Schools, in appreciation of his valuable contribution.
As Bahçeşehir Bilfen High Schools, we remain committed to nurturing environmentally sensitive, conscientious, and responsible individuals. We value every step taken for a “Green Homeland” and continue our efforts to leave a greener world to future generations.
