The Anniversary of Ankara Becoming The Capital

On October 13, 1923, with a historic decision made by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Ankara was officially declared the capital of the Republic of Türkiye. The 102nd anniversary of this meaningful day was celebrated at our school with great enthusiasm and pride.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. Following this, one of our students delivered a speech on “Ankara Becoming the Capital.”
In the speech, the student highlighted Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s reasons for choosing Ankara as the capital and emphasized the significance of this decision for the Turkish nation. It was noted that Ankara’s designation as the capital was not merely a geographical choice, but a major step toward independence, national sovereignty, and modernization.
Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow soldiers were commemorated with gratitude and respect.
The celebration concluded with a performance of the “Ankara March” by our students, marking the end of a proud and memorable ceremony.
