SIDE BY SIDE ENGLISH PROGRAM

The Side by Side English Program is a holistic teaching model where two teachers—an elementary school teacher and an English teacher—are responsible for each classroom. Within the program, English lessons are integrated with content from science, social studies, mathematics, and art classes, creating an interdisciplinary learning environment.

Lesson plans are structured according to the fundamental principles of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). Meaningful routines that enhance language acquisition and facilitate learning are integrated into the lesson flow. The main goal of the program is to create a fun and motivating learning environment for students, enabling them to achieve fluency and communicative competence in English.

To increase exposure to the target language, students are encouraged to use English not only during class hours but also during breaks, breakfast, and lunch, among other daily routines. Using English in the natural flow of daily life reduces anxiety levels, strengthens self-confidence, and supports communication between teachers, students, and peers.
