POSITIVE EDUCATION

There are two ways to improve current situations of human beings: Minimize negative things in life and maximize positive ones. Commonly known psychological science focuses significantly on the first strategy whereas positive psychology focuses on the second.

"Treatment is not only to repair the broken one but also to feed the best."
Martin E. P. Seligman

Positive Education Program of Bilfen has been developed on the basis of positive psychology. The program focuses on the development of positive characteristics by students and achievement of positive experiences and protection of their mental health through the efforts which enhance subjective wellbeing. Positive education refers to an educational approach where both traditional academic skills and wellbeing (happiness) skills are taught. In positive education, the aim is to enable students to develop strength and positive characteristics. The purpose is to make sure that students discover their best adaptive mechanisms and their own characteristics that render them strong and resilient as well as strengthen their personality.

Upon the completion of the program, it is expected that students' satisfaction with life, wellbeing, level of happiness and academic achievements will maximize and their likely problems and tendencies to negative thinking will minimize.
