The Elevated English Program implemented at Bilfen Schools offers a comprehensive language learning approach that addresses students' academic, personal, and social development together. The program aims to support students in becoming effective, responsible, and conscious individuals in a rapidly changing, technological, and global world. To this end, it provides rich and meaningful learning experiences in areas such as social responsibility, environmental awareness, and cultural sensitivity.
The pedagogical foundation of the program is structured around the Communicative Approach and the CEFR Action-Oriented Method, which encourage students to use English in authentic contexts and through real-life tasks. These approaches are integrated into the teaching process, supported by CLIL (Content-Based Language Learning) and Task-Based Language Learning principles.
The Elevated Program aims to systematically develop the four core language skills, as well as supporting areas such as grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Students explore the language through meaningful and real-life activities; they gain fluency and accuracy through structured practices in speaking and writing.
The learning process is enriched with digital tools and online platforms within the framework of the Blended Learning model. Social learning practices, collaborative work, and peer interaction strengthen students' communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
The assessment process at the 7th and 8th grade levels is conducted using a holistic approach involving process assessment, performance tasks, and product-oriented measurement tools. Students' development in subject matter and supporting skills is systematically monitored through their performance in interdisciplinary projects and school-wide BilTalks presentations.
Bilfen Schools believes that foreign language learning should not be limited to the classroom environment. They prioritize developing students' speaking skills to enable them to express their thoughts effectively and reinforcing these skills through extracurricular learning experiences.
In line with this, 7th-grade students, who conduct awareness-raising activities on global issues within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) throughout the year in English, German, and French classes, present their proposed solutions to a chosen goal at the BilTalks Conference.
Through their impactful speeches, students invite the audience to reflect on steps that can be taken to make our world a better place, while also having the opportunity to develop their presentation, persuasion, and public speaking skills to an advanced level.
