Health

A doctor and a nurse take charge in Bilfen Primary Schools who can provide the first respond in case of a health problem in our students. Our infirmaries are sufficiently equipped to respond to complaints of our students in any health problem.

 

Our students are referred to the infirmary by the vice principal if they have a health problem. After the required response is provided in the infirmary, firstly the involved vice principal and then the parents are informed. 

 

Nutrition

In our schools, breakfasts, lunches and all offerings are prepared by Biltur Catering. Biltur Catering (www.bilturcatering.com) has been founded within the scope of Bilfen and aims at cooking quality and healthy foods for students in compliance with the rules of hygiene. The menus which are subjected to calorie calculation by dietitians and quality control officers are approved by the school doctor as well and then offered to students. 

Hygiene

Attaching importance to students' health, Bilfen Schools pay attention to hygiene activities in our schools. These activities are carried out under the supervision of Prof Dr Yasar Keskin, the Public Health Specialist and lecturer in Marmara University. Microbiological samples are taken from all critical points and examined accordingly within the scope of the activities conducted in compliance with the HACCP rules (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point). Hygiene activities performed in Bilfen are as follows:

 

Food Control
All stages from production to consumption are controlled and microbiological samples are taken from the bench, hands of cooks and service personnel and foods once a week. 

 

Water Control
Microbiological samples are taken from drinking waters, utility waters and swimming pools once a week. Furthermore, chemical inspection is performed on a monthly basis. pH value and chlorinity of swimming pool are also inspected daily. Water fountains and purification tank are disinfected once a week. 

 

Floor Control
Wet and dry floors are cleaned with disinfectants used in hospitals.

 

Toilet Control

All areas are cleaned and hygienized every day with strong disinfectants. Microbiologic sample is taken from the lavatory faucet on a weekly basis.
